The Medium Tank M4, better known as the Sherman, appeared in variousforms throughout its stellar career with Allied armies. One of thelesser known variants is the M4A3 (105mm), of which five hundred weremanufactured by Detroit Arsenal between April and August 1944. The 105mmhowitzer gun was fitted so that the vehicle could serve in the closesupport role, rather than in the usual tank role. Precisely such a vehicle has now been re-introduced in 1/72 model kit form.
