Queen Mary 2 The "Queen Mary 2" is the flagship of the British Cunard Line shipping company and is one of the largest passenger ships in the world.
Queen Elizabeth II christened the Queen Mary 2 at a state ceremony on 8 January 2004. The maiden voyage took place from 12 January to 26 January 2004, starting from the ships home port of Southampton and travelling to Port Everglades in Florida, via Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Barbados and the US Virgin Islands.
The Queen Mary 2 visited Hamburg harbour for the first time on 19 July 2004, mooring at the Grasbrook terminal (now known as Hamburg Cruise Center HafenCity). Over 300,000 spectators watched the ship enter the harbour. It has made regular calls to Hamburg in the intervening years, mooring at Hamburg Cruise Center HafenCity.Whilst moored there, a range of events are held under the banner of "Queen Mary 2 Day".
