The StuG.III is a well-known tank destroyer used by German forces in WWII. Closely related is the StuH.42 (denoting Sturmhaubitze 42), which was used to support armor and infantry with a larger-caliber gun offering greater destructive firepower. The first low-rate production examples were manufactured by Alkett in October 1942, using chassis of StuG.III Ausf.E/F vehicles fitted with a 10.5cm StuH.42 L/28 howitzer. 

The latest offering from Dragon represents a stunning 1/72 scale kit of an StuH.42 self-propelled howitzer based on our latest StuG.III Ausf.F chassis. This kit has brand new one-piece barrel and the notek light. Same as last StuG.III, the road wheels and track run are made as one piece for modeling convenience. Dragon 1/72 StuG.III family has just gained even more firepower with this fine rendering of a StuH.42 Ausf.E/F with larger-caliber gun.
