The power capacitors are soldered to the speed controller in parallel to the drive battery this can improve the effective range of a model by up to 50%. GM power capacitors are extremely low in resistance and highly resistant to temperature extremes. This does not apply to ordinary standard capacitors of the same capacitance and voltage values, which are not suitable for this purpose as they would overheat and not exhibit the desired effect.
