Information
  • ARTR (Almost Ready To Run)
  • Realistic replica of the first modern-design sea rescue cruiser (tower construction and separate auxiliary boat for deployment in shallow waters). All subsequent cruisers were built in line with this design
  • A total of four Theodor Heuss class ships were built
  • The sea rescue cruiser was christened Theodor Heuss on 12 February 1957, named after the German President at the time
  • The auxiliary boat was christened Tedje, which is the northern German diminutive form of the first name Theodor
  • The Theodor Heuss was in service from 1957 to 1963 at Borkum and from 1963 to 1985 around Laboe. After that the cruiser was sold and it still sails today as a yacht called FridoSpatz
  • The auxiliary boat has also been under private ownership since 1996 and is expected to sail again following its restoration. In the past it could be found as an exhibit in front of the rescue hut in Norddeich
  • The Theodor Heuss found in the Deutsches Museum in Munich is actually the renamed sister ship the H. H. Meier
  • High-quality, first-class model with outstanding detailing
