WP PEGASUS IIIBeschlag Nr. 33 Graupner 2160 One ot the days in January 1974 was a day to be proud of for the Kroeger-Werft of Rendsburg: It was the day when the racy motor yacht PEGASUS lll (of 250 b. r. t.) built by this concern won in London the coveted title of the best and most beautiful yacht of the year offered by the famous Lloyds Register of Shipping and - in addition to that title - the LLOYDS REGISTER YACHT TROPHY 1973. The de-luxe yacht had been built for the owner of a Greek shipping company Equipped with two powerful Diesel engines of 2750 kW (=3750 HP) each, PEGASUS lll proved a real fast mover. The hull of PEGASUS lll is made of mahogany and teak wood.
Just like the fullsize craft the model excells by
elegant lines and high speed. Scaled to 1:32
and fully detailed it should meet the requirements of even the most demanding boat modeller. On the other hand the model requires comparatively little skillto finish it, all difficult-to-fashion parts, such as hull, cabin superstructure steering house, ships boat, davit, seats etc. being contained in the kit as extruded ready-formed parts.
The wooden parts (furnished) come generally
pre-shaped. Building time is further reduced by the large number of precision-moulded plastic parts contained in the set of marine accessories, such as anchor, capstan components charin stopper bollard, life raft container, life belts etc. The hull is roomy enough to accommodate voluminous R/C equipment. Driven by its two powerful electric motors the twin screw model travels at a very snappy clip and for a rather long time, too, when equipped with matching power supplies. Just like its fullsize counterpart this model is equipped with stabilizing fins which serve to dampen any rolling tendency. Quickbuild plan, R/C installation plan, illustrated building instructions and R/C installation instruc- tions in German, English, French et Dutch. Formed hull, cabin, boat deck superstructure pilots house, pilots house roof, hull parts of ships boat, seat benches, davit components and other parts formed of ABS plastic, printed and die-cut wooden parts, moldings, wires, stern tubes with propeller shafts, shaft couplings, marine propellers, rudder, flag, decal, miscellaneous parts.
