WP NH 90 Rumpfbausatz (Turb.) Graupner 4469 The full-size prototype of the NH 90 JET is the same as that for the GRAUPNER/Heim NH 90 with UNI-MECHANICS 2000 (Order No. 4468): a 9-tonne class transport helicopter with two engines, which was developed as a joint project between France, Italy, Germany and Holland. At present five prototypes exist, and series production is slated to start in 2002. The model is designed to a scale of 1:8.9 and has a rotor diameterof 182 cm. The GRAUPNER/JetCat helicopter mechanics designed for this model have been tested exhaustively in this fuselage and developed to full production maturity; the main rotor speed is around 1250 rpm at a turbine speed of 85,000 rpm. The suggested paint scheme and registration are those of prototype 2 (PT2), which is the Navy version; naturally it is also possible to produce versions of the other prototypes from the kit, or even the UN variant familiar from the versionwith UNI-MECHANICS. The white pigmented GRP fuselage is supplied with most windows and other openings machine-cut. Access to the mechanics and other internal fittings is excellent via the large top cover which provides access to almost the entire width of the fuselage. Additional access is provided by the side doors which are designed to be completely removable, and which conceal the connections for filling the fueltank and the gas container for the turbine start-up process. The mechanics, complete with integral servos and auxiliary apparatus, can be installed in the fuselage from above as a single unit, where the aggregate is secured by means of two profiled aluminium rails. The tail rotor drive system is based on a 2 mm Ø spring steel shaft and an angle gearbox in the vertical stabiliser; the system is controlled by a CFRP pushrod. Like the full-size machine, the model features a retractable undercarriage whose three legs are operated by separate servos. The upper fuselage fairing, the tail rotor cap and even the side doors are, like the fuselage, moulded in GRP with a high-quality gloss white surface finish; if you wish to produce the UN version it is therefore not necessary to paint the fuselage, as the separately available decal sheet provides all the coloured areas. As far as possible the separation lines of the fuselage sections are coincident with the corresponding joints in the skin panels and fairings of the full-size, to avoid spoiling the overall scale impression. The sliding doors fit in recesses moulded into the fuselage. The vacuum-moulded windows are fitted with flanges and are designed to be glued in the pre-cut openings in the fuselage shell from the inside; this may call for slight trimming of the window openings, but produces an impressive scale appearance.

Building instructions in German, English and French. Multi-part fuselage in epoxy / glass fibre technology with white pigmented high-gloss surface finish and most openings pre-cut,, wooden parts, vacuum-moulded clear windows, tail rotor shaft and bearing, pushrod and tail rotor bellcrank, vacuum-moulded horizontal stabiliser parts, two fueltanks each of 1 litre capacity, aluminium mechanics mountings, vacuum-mouldedinternal cockpit fittings, small items.
