WP HOT-SPOT Graupner 6262 Whistle into the new world of jet flying with the new HOTSPOT. This is an impressively elegant model with the sleek appearance of a typical jet aircraft in the air. The double-delta wing planform neatly combines the requirements for low wing loading, compact layout, broad speed range and docile flying characteristics. An optional speed brake (airbrake) can be installed in the top of the fuselageto reduce the landing speed further. Powered by a powerful turbine engine, the model is effortlessly capable of vertical climbing manoeuvres to the limits of vision. The model is simple and straightforward to handle, with unrestricted access to the turbine, a fuselage-mounted retractable undercarriage, and removable wings and fins. The large, removable canopy affords convenient access to all the airborne equipment. The wheel hubs feature integralpneumatically operated brakes, and in conjunction with the electro-magnetic brake valve they provide proportional braking of the model before take-off and after landing. The model takes off easily even from a grass strip. If fitted with the optional speed controller (airspeed regulator) the model´s airspeed can be limited or governed (similar to cruise control in a car). With this system the airspeed is calculated from the air pressure pickedup by a pitot tube mounted on the side of the fuselage. The fuselage is of full GRP sandwich construction. The wing support, main undercarriage bearer and main bulkheads are all factory-installed. The obechi-skin-ned wings a re supplied finish-sanded, with machi-ned control surface slots, and the rudders are furnished machined to shape; all these features reduce building time to a minimum.
