WP GEE BEE SPORTSTERm.OS MAX Graupner 6293.MS Semi-scale model of the GEE BEE Sportster. This aircraft was the predecessor of the GEE BEE R1 - probably the best known of the GEE BEE series. The Sportster was powered by an in-line engine, whereas the R1 was fitted with a radial engine.
Like the full-size machine our model also offers impressively elegant lines. The model is of conventional all-wood construction, and the built-up parts are supplied film-covered. The cowl, fuselage turtle deck and wheel spats are GRP mouldings and are supplied pre-painted. The rudder and elevator are actuated by means of the proven Direct Steel System (DSS), while each aileron is actuated by its own servo mounted immediately adjacent to the control surface, ensuring a non-slop linkage to both ailerons. Completing the model only requires a few gluing operations, including the guide tubes, fuselage turtle deck, tailplane, joining the wing panels and installing the RC equipment and glow motor.
