WP AERMACCHI MB339/AP.A.N. Graupner 6263 The AERMACCHI 339/A P.A.N. is a military jet with outstanding flying qualities. Its balanced handling and relatively low landing speed - around 180 km/hr - make it the ideal trainer for pilots just making the transition to jets. Currently seven national airforces employ the MB 339/A P.A.N. in its trainer role. The machine gained world-wide fame when the Frecce Tricolori Italian aerobatic squadron selected it for their display routine: nine pilots fly their jets in formation, completing a breathtaking series of aerobatic manoeuvres, marked out in the sky by trails of three different colours of smoke. Our model of the AERMACCHI is a semi-scale version which incorporates carefully selected airfoils and moment arms in order to ensure well-balanced flying characteristics for jet-style aerobatic practice. The model has extremely good slow-flying characteristics, which provides a generous margin of safety even if the engine cuts in flight. The model has been designed for ease of transport, with removable tailplane panels and outboard wing panels, and can be carried in a car with the pneumatic, braked retractable tricycle undercarriage extended. The turbine power system and RC components are accessible from above through the canopy and a hatch in the fuselage. Two alternative undercarriages are available: standard and semi-scale versions, both of which feature pneumatic retract operation and brakes. Detailed building instructions, white-pigmented GRP fuselage, undercarriage mounts bonded in using the wet-on-wet technique, wing and tail joiner sleeves accurately factory-installed, machined control surface slots in the wings and tail panels. The kit also includes all other parts required to complete the bare airframe, including GRP canopy frame, canopy, various wooden parts, linkage hardware pack, wing and tail joiner tubes.
