COMPACT 490 16 V Graupner 6523 A superb power system for large gliders up to 4 m wingspan and power models up to about 2 m span. The number of cells used should be in the range 12 to 20. It is important to select the size of propeller carefully to match the model type. To this end we strongly recommend the use of a clamp ammeter (Order No. 1958) to check the current drain under load; it should lie in the range 20...40 A. Recommended propeller size: approx. 43 x 25 cm (12 cells), 38 x 20 cm (16 cells), 30 x20 cm (20 cells). A new range of high-performance BRUSHLESS motors. The prime feature of the motors in this series is their enormously high torque, which shows its true potential in direct-drive applications. The new GRAUPNER COMPACT motors are brushless out-runners, i.e. the outer sleeve of the motor rotates, and drives the motor shaft directly. This design principle results in particularly compact electric motors which achieveoutstanding performance values even without a gearbox.
